Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar, Arkansas Biosciences Institute and Department of Biological Sciences was recipient of the 2006 Arthur Neish Award from the Phytochemical Society of North America (PSNA). The award was presented in the 2006 PSNA Annual Meeting held at the University of Mississippi (Oxford, MS) last month. During this meeting, Dr. Medina-Bolivar gave one of the invited Neish presentations. His topic was a recent outcome from his laboratory at ABI: “Resveratrol Production in Hairy Roots of Peanut”. Resveratrol is a plant-made chemical with important health benefits including antioxidant, anticancer and cardioprotective properties.
