Dr. Brett Savary, Agriculture/ABI, presented an interactive poster at the World Congress on In Vitro Biology. His poster, "Growth patterns, sectreted protein profiles,and EST transcripts from sugar beet (Beta vulgaris, L.) hairy root cultures," was co-authored by Dr. Prasanna Vasu and Dr. Daya Anandan of ABI and Dr. Ann Smigocki and Dr. Alberto Nunez of the United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service. Dr. Savary's research focus areas include bioanalytical chemistry and protein purification technologies, plant cell wall polysaccharides and associated enzyme systems, utilization of proteins and polysaccharides in food processing residues, and bioprocessing and protein production by in vitro expression systems.
