Dr. Malathi Srivatsan, Molecular Biology, recently returned from Bangalore, India, after serving as an invited distinguished speaker at the Fifth International Conference on Smart Materials, Structures and Systems at the Indian Institute of Sciences. Dr. Srivatsan spoke on "Nanomaterials for Differentiation, Growth, and Repair in the Nervous System." She was interviewed by a major Indian newspaper, The Indian Express, on the application of nanotechnology to neuroscience. Dr. Srivatsan was also invited to present a seminar, "Cholinergic Components in Neuroregeneration" at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, a premier neuroscience research facility. Dr. Srivatsan also visited Training and Advanced Studies in Management and Communications, Ltd. (TASMAC), an education consultancy that promotes ASU among prospective students from South Asia.
