Lisko won for her work, co-authored with R. Shea Harris, graduate student in Environmental Science, and Dr. Lorence. Lisko's award-winning paper, "Elevated Vitamin C Enhances Growth, Stress Tolerance, and Phytoremediation Potential in Arabidopsis," was based on research performed in Dr. Lorence's laboratory at ABI. Dr. Lorence engineered plant lines used in the research--lines of the model plant Arabidopsis were engineered to have elevated levels of vitamin C.
