Arkansas State University in partnership with Arkansas Delta Training and Education Consortium (ADTEC) has developed a four year degree program (2+2) in the Renewable Energy Technology for students interested in careers in renewable energy-related industries. Students will pursue the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree at an ADTEC institution and will continue at ASU-J for their Bachelor’s in Applied Science (BAS) in Renewable Energy Technology. The courses for the Baccalaureate program will be provided to students from ADTEC University Center through distance learning technologies.

Increasing emphasis on renewable energy technologies from the federal and state governments as well as from industrial sectors require a trained workforce in this area. A degree in Renewable Energy can open career options in several areas related to green jobs, some of which are:
• Biofuels production and distribution
• Solar thermal and photovoltics installation and manufacturing
• Wind energy power generation and turbine manufacturing
• Hydrogen, fuel cell and transportation industry
• Energy conservation, efficiency and management
• Research and development opportunities in new renewable energy technologies
