SHRM was founded in 1948 and has over 575 affiliated chapters in the U.S. and members in over 100 countries. ASU SHRM is not just for HR majors. Any student enrolled in classes at Arkansas State University may become a member of this chapter. In fact, we welcome non-HR majors especially those who are near graduation and can benefit from hearing firsthand what employers are looking for in job candidates and helping prepare candidates to meet those requirements. All members of ASU SHRM must be a paid member of the professional chapter of SHRM. The cost to join the professional chapter is $35 a year, a significant cost savings from the professional dues of $160 a year. Go to www.shrm.org or pick up an application at Room 410 in the College of Business building to join the professional SHRM chapter. Our chapter number is 5155. ASU SHRM membership dues are 5$ a year.
