DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the ASU Master of Public Administration program. We are excited you are considering entering our professional MPA degree program. Whether you are an established professional wishing to change career direction by moving up the career ladder, or at the beginning of your professional life and want to get a head start on the competition, the ASU-MPA offers a rigorous curriculum that prepares you for success in government, non-profit agencies, and the private sector.

With our small classroom sizes of less than fifteen students and dynamic faculty with active research and service agendas, our students develop and enhance their professional skills in a tightly-knit collegial environment. Not only do our students learn state of the art managerial, budgeting, and analytic skills, our students are constantly challenged to develop those human-skills necessary for professional success – the ability to communicate efficiently, lead effectively, and act ethically.

I'm proud of our students and the role the MPA faculty have played in their success. Alumni have moved on to serve with distinction in federal, state and local government, in international, regional and local non-profits, and throughout the private sector. They work in law-enforcement, health-care, environmental, and educational sectors, to name but a few. With the Arkansas State University MPA's focus on preparing our students for a range of opportunities, our students are ready for success, and they achieve it.
