Department News
The Department of History is pleased to announce that Dr. Gina Hogue has been appointed Department Chair effective 7/1/09. She replaces Dr. Pamela Hronek who is returning to full-time teaching this fall.  Dr. Hogue has been a member of the history faculty since 1997 and was Assistant Chair of the Department for the past three and a half years.  She principally teaches Methods and Materials for Teaching Social Studies, Computer Technology for the History/Social Sciences Educator, and U.S. Foreign Relations Since 1900.

The Department of History also welcomes Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch as Department Assistant Chair.  Dr. Jones-Branch has been a member of the history faculty since 2002 and acquired tenure with a promotion to Associate Professor in Spring 2009.  She principally teaches U.S. History Since 1876, African American History I and II, U.S. Civil Rights Movement, African American Women's History, 20th Century Women's Reform and Activism,
Race, Gender, and Identity, and The Age of Jim Crow, 1896-1954.
