Arkansas State University-Model United Nations
Annual SPRING High School Conference
March 13 and 14, 2009

The Arkansas State University-Model United Nations will host its annual Spring High School Conference on Friday March 13th and Saturday March 14th, 2009 in the Library on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

This year's conference will include one Security Council and one historical Model League of Nations Council [1935].

Security Council Topics

I.      Gaza and Israel conflict

II.     Situation in Somalia

Historical - Model League of Nations 1935

              [including Italy's invasion of Abyssinia]

Fees will be $10.00 per delegation and $7.00 per delegate; Friday night dinner fee $7.00.

Another aspect of this year's conference will be the International Press Delegation which will allow students with an interest in journalism and photojournalism to work with college students to cover the activities of the conference and produce two newsletters while in attendance. Openings are available for at least four journalists and one photo journalist to participate. Cost will be $7.00 per journalist.
