The MCD program at ASU meets the rigorous requirements for accreditation for speech-language pathology from the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). It has been designed to lead to state licensure and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by ASHA. Student outcome measures are listed below and are based on three years' data.
Program Completion Rates:
87.8% of admitted students complete the program within the program's
published time frame
2006 - 85.71% (21 students) 2007 - 88.9% (18 students) 2008 - 88.8% (18 students)
PRAXIS Examination Rates:
88.8% of students pass the PRAXIS examination on first attempt with an average score of 655.63 (600 required).
Employment Rates:
88.8% of program graduates are employed in the profession or pursuing further education in the profession
within one year of graduation.
Students are admitted based on a competitive, space-available application process. All materials for the application packet should be sent to the ASU Graduate School by February 15th, annually. Application packets are reviewed and ranked by the CD Admissions and Credits Committee in early March, and all applicants are notified by mail of acceptance status. Students begin the program in the first summer term following acceptance.
