Susan Hanrahan, PhD is a Professor of Physical Therapy and Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Arkansas State University. Susan holds degrees from the University of Kansas (BS in Physical Therapy and Master’s in Public Administration) and Temple University (PhD in Health Education). She completed summer work at the University of Michigan in Epidemiology.  Her research interests are in adolescent health, women’s health and health policy.  Susan is a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Allied Health. She holds national leadership positions with the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions, Washington, DC and the Allied Health Research Institute, St. Louis.  In Arkansas, she serves as Past Chair of the Steering Committee for the Regional Board Area Health Education Centers (AHECs), is Chair of the Health Policy Board, Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, Little Rock and serves on the Governor’s Roundtable for Health Care. She is the Governor’s representative on the Tobacco Settlement Commission and serves as Chair. She is also a member of the State HealthCare Workforce Task Force. She was appointed by the Mayor Harold Perrin to the Comprehensive Planning Advisory Commission for the City of Jonesboro. She also holds or has held positions on various boards in the Jonesboro community including the Center on Aging NE, Craighead County Community Foundation, St Bernards Womens Health, Our Kids Count Coalition, YMCA, American Heart Association, Regional Chamber of Commerce, Delta Symphony Orchestra, Women’s Discovery Center, Hispanic Community Services Inc, Residential Housing and Health Care Facilities, Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House Steering Committee and NEA Clinic Charitable Foundation. She was on the founding board of five of those organizations.

Post-doctoral work in Epidemiology, University of Michigan.

Dean of Nursing and Health Professions,
Arkansas State University, Professor of Physical Therapy.

Research Interests:

Health policy, health behavior, women's health, adolescent
health, environmental health, occupational safety and health,
health prevention and promotion and women in sports.

Outside Interests:

Any sporting event (spectator and participant), yardwork,
reading, travel and spending time with
my husband and family.
