Advanced Certificate in Cardiac Sonography Tracts

Tract #1           BSRS DMS graduate or credentialed sonographer

Application deadline November 30th - Application materials must be received in the department office by 5 p.m.

Requires the documentation of 6 months full time cardiac sonography experience. Experience may be obtained concurrently with the didactic portion of the program.

RSU 4812 Cardiac Conduction and Arrhythmia
Summer Semester: RSU 4723 Cardiac Sonography
RSU 4742 Competency Sonography Lab II

 

Tract #2           AAS in Allied Health or BS in any major

Application deadline April 1st - Application materials must be received in the department office by 5 p.m.

Requires the documentation of 12 months full time cardiac sonography experience. Experience may be obtained concurrently with the didactic portion of the program.

Admission Process:

Apply to Arkansas State University.
Determine whether you meet the Admission Requirements for the DMS program.
Download DMS application.
Download DMS application check sheet and follow the directions.
Submit completed application by April 1st or November 30th depending on the tract.

Selection of students will be based upon the following:
                GPA
                Documentation of experience

The following general education must also be complete in the event they had not been completed for the initial degree:

BIO 2203 Anatomy & Physiology I
BIO 2201 Lab for Anatomy & Physiology

BIO 2223 Anatomy & Physiology II
BIO 2221 Lab for Anatomy & Physiology II

PHYS 2133 Survey of Physics for Health Professions or PHYS 2054 General Physics

MATH 1023 College Algebra

Communications Skills: can be meet with a variety of courses including English, speech, or composition.
