girl's with kiteThe teacher education program at Arkansas State University provides a rigorous program that is designed to equip our students to be successful teachers. Graduates of our program enter the classroom ready to make a difference in the lives of their students.

Undergraduate Programs

The undergraduate teacher education program includes the following degree plans:

Early Childhood Education (pre-kindergarten through fourth grade licensure)
Early Childhood with Special Education Emphasis (pre-kindergarten through fourth grade licensure and pre-kindergarten through fourth grade special education licensure)
Middle-level Education (fourth through eighth grade licensure)

Graduate Programs

The graduate teacher education program includes the following masters level degree plans:

Early Childhood Education
Early Childhood Services
Reading
Middle-level Education

Field-based Experiences

Teacher Education students have many opportunities to observe, teach and work with students and classroom teachers in the public schools and childcare settings. From the onset of the program, the Introduction to Teaching class, until the end of internship, students have a variety of experiences and are given numerous opportunities to practice emerging teaching skills. Under the supervision of experienced classroom teachers and university faculty, they are provided with meaningful feedback that helps them to grow in their professional practice.
