MSE Reading Program

The MSE in Reading--

The Masters of Science in Education (MSE) degree in Reading offers educators a pathway to the knowledge, resources and practicum experiences needed to become licensed reading specialists. The program offers 30 hours of reading coursework with customized reading elective options. Six hours of core Teacher Education courses are also required. The program focuses on all aspects of literacy from emergent to adolescent. Emphasis on literacy cognition, literacy leadership, and literacy interventions are included in the program. Degree requirements involve a written, comprehensive examination and successful completion of the PRAXIS II Reading Specialist examination.
