The Arkansas Department of Education offers a Non-Traditional Licensure for individuals who hold a bachelor's degree and who seek to be teachers. This program is not an Arkansas State University program and as such, we are not in a position to advise you regarding this program. The course work that the Arkansas State University Department of Teacher Education offers to meet the requirement for this program in Early Childhood (PK-4) and Middle Level (4-8) are as follows:
In order to take required courses for the Non-Traditional License (NTLP) at Arkansas State University, you must first be admitted to the university. Once you are admitted, call Mrs. Vicki Stark at 870-972-3436 or email her at vstark@astate.edu . Please indicate that you want to enroll in the Non-Traditional Licensure Reading class. She will need your name and your ASU ID number. With this information she can lift your advising hold and you will be able to register on Banner.
