About FM

The Facilities Management Department is responsible for the basic operation and continuous maintenance of the physical facilities of Arkansas State University and the Arkansas Services Center.  On the campus, responsibilities of the FM Department include assisting in the planning for new facilities, construction process of new facilities, building operation and maintenance, and grounds landscaping and maintenance.

Because Facilities Management is responsible for the condition of facilities and grounds, any project that alters the facilities or grounds in any way must be performed by Facilities Management personnel or approved by the appropriate Facilities Management Officer.  To ensure that projects can be expeditiously completed, the FM Department is represented on all building program committees and other bodies, which assess, assign, or plan alterations or additions to existing structures and buildings.

FM is composed of seven service departments: Business Services, Construction Services, Custodial Services, Landscape/Motor Pool/Support Services, Maintenance/Repair/Renovation (Skilled Trades) Services, Engineering Services, and Quality Improvement Processes.

The pride we take in our work is expressed in our mission statement.
