Entering Freshman

Transfer Students
Transfer students should first visit Arkansas State University's Undergraduate Admissions website to apply to ASU. Transfer students should submit a portfolio prior to enrollment in the ASU Art Department courses. Transfer review provides an opportunity for students joining us from other programs to acquire a realistic assessment of their status in relation to our program.
Graduate Students
Applicants seeking admission to the Master of Arts in Art (studio art or art education emphasis) must possess an appropriate undergraaduate degree in Art or Art Education. In addition, applicants must submit evidence of creative and scholarly ability consisting of a portfolio of 20 images on a CD/DVD, three letters of recommendation from persons qualified to evaluate the applicant's potential for graduate work, and a writing sample comprising a personal statement about the applicant's goals, attitudes about their subject matter, media, and source.
