Program Description
The MS degree in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is an interdisciplinary program that prepares professionals to effectively meet the demands of disaster preparedness, mitigation, planning, response and recovery.  The program requires 36 hours of graduate-level courses that include a variety of teaching methodologies and activities.  Some courses include student experiences at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama.  Core and emphasis courses are offered on-line so students have access to them from any geographic location.  The degree culminates in an internship, research project or thesis and is offered in modules which allow year round admission.

Admission Requirements
Students interested in pursuing the MS in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (MSDPEM) must meet the admission requirements of, and be admitted to, the Graduate School.  In addition, applicants must schedule a personal interview with a MSDPEM adviser.  Interviews can be conducted in person, by telephone, or electronically.  Admission to the program is conditional upon completion of prerequisite course(s) required, and acceptance into the courses offered by the Center for Domestic Preparedness.
