Program Description
The Graduate Certificate in Disaster Health is an interdisciplinary program that prepares professionals to effectively meet the demands of disaster preparedness, mitigation, planning, response and recovery.  The program requires 18 hours of graduate-level courses related to disaster health.  Hours completed in fulfillment of a prior degree cannot be counted toward certificate requirements; however, hours completed in the certificate program can be applied toward the MS in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management.  Students may transition from the certificate program to the MS program with permission of the graduate faculty.

Admission Requirements
Students wishing to complete the certificate in disaster health must meet the same prerequisites as for the MS in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management.  In addition, applicants must schedule a personal interview with an MS adviser.  Interviews can be conducted in person, by telephone, or electronically.  Admission to the program is conditioned upon completion of prerequisite course(s) required, and acceptance by the disaster preparedness and emergency management agencies for practicum experiences.
