Honors Graduation Requirements


Students can graduate "In Honors" or "In University Honors."


To graduate "In Honors" students must have:
  • 18 credit hours of Honors coursework. 9 credit hours must be upper-level courses.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
  • "Honors Program" will appear on diploma and official transcript if the above criteria are met.
To graduate "In University Honors" students must have:
  • 24 credit hours of Honors coursework. 12 credit hours must be upper-level courses.
  • Senior thesis in major or minor area.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
  • "University Honors Program" will appear on diploma and official transcript if the above criteria are met.

Students who do not graduate "In Honors" or "In University Honors" may earn an Honors Certificate.


To earn an Honors certificate students must have:

  • 18 credit hours of Honors coursework.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 (Good academic standing in The Honors College).

Honors students who have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours in Honors coursework with a 3.00 or higher cumulative grade point average and have been formally admitted to professional programs that do not require an undergraduate degree are also presented with a certificate in recognition of their accomplishment.
