Undergraduate Research Travel Funds

Undergraduate Research Travel Funds

This year the Office of Research and Technology Transfer (ORTT) more than doubled the annual amount available to support undergraduate research travel from $3,000 to $7,000 and increased the individual award ceiling from $250 to $400. Given twice a year, these funds are available to undergraduate students to present research or creative works at a professional conference or meeting.

Each student is allowed up to $400 once a year to aid in covering conference costs such as registration fees, meals, travel and lodging. There is a 50% match requirement that must come from a named source.  These sources can include the following: a SURF (Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship) or other sponsored award; funding from the college, department, faculty sponsor, or student’s own resources; or another named source.

Undergraduate Research Travel Fund recipients are expected to present their work at the annual Create @ STATE research symposium in the ASU Student Union.
