University Honors Scholarship (UHS)


The University Honors Scholarship (UHS) is the top scholarship that Arkansas State University awards to the best and brightest of each incoming freshmen class. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, each student must be an Arkansas resident and a graduate of an Arkansas high school. Additionally, each student must have one of the following :

  • Minimum 29 ACT composite (1300 SAT combined) and 3.500 cumulative GPA on the sixth semester transcript OR
  • Be a Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship recipient OR
  • Be a National Merit finalist or semi/finalist.

As the top scholarship at ASU, the UHS covers tuition and fees for 15 semester hours, a double occupancy room for on-campus housing, a meal plan and a stipend of $1200 for the academic year. Depending on the eligible applicant pool, the university awards approximately 40 UHS scholarships each academic year.
