Admission for International Undergraduates

Current Undergraduate Bulletin

Student must be at least 18 years old to apply to Arkansas State University. If you are under 18, you will need to provide a proof of having a legal guardian in United States.

All Applicants MUST

  • Complete the International Student Application Form

  • Pay $40 Application Fee

  • Copy of Passport
  • If you attended or are attending a U.S. academic institution (including language programs) you must submit the ASU International Student Transfer Clearance Form

  • Submit an Original or Official (Notarized) Financial/Bank Letter or Statement in English issued by a Bank or Financial Institution, along with a Sponsorship letter from the Sponsor. Financial and Sponsorship documents must prove cash assets of the following amounts:

First Time Undergraduate Students – Freshman

 

  • Official (Notarized) or Original Copy of High School Diploma and transcripts in native language with translation in English. Minimum required Grade Point Average is 2.3/4.0
  • Proof of English Proficiency

    • Completing ASU’s ESL Program Minimum grade of 80% or above

    • TOEFL – Paper-Based 500 – (ASU’s Code:6011)

    • TOEFL – Computer-Based 173– (ASU’s Code:6011)

    • TOEFL – Internet-Based 61– (ASU’s Code:6011)

    • IELTS* – Academic 5.5- Official Score from the Testing Center

    • PTE – Pearson Test of English Academic 43

    • English as Official Language CIA World Fact Book

    • Completing required level of a CEA Accredited ESL program

    • Obtaining minimum 60% in English at X and XII in Certificate in India and Pakistan

    • High School Graduate (minimum 2 years of attendance) from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand

Transferring Undergraduate Students – Transfer

  • Official (Notarized) or Original Copy of all University Transcripts in native language with translation in English. Minimum required Grade Point Average (GPA) is 2.00/4.0 on total transferrable hours to Arkansas State University. 

  • Proof of English Proficiency (Student must meet one of the requirements listed above)

 

Transfer Undergraduate Process:

1)      International Admission office at ASU needs to receive official academic transcripts from each institution you have attended.

2)      ASU’s Registrar office completes the initial transfer evaluation for all applicants.

3)      Upon arrival to campus, the student needs to contact the advisor to work on transfer work. The student needs to make sure that they have course description and syllabus for each course.

4)      Any courses listed as transfer credits need to be evaluated and approved by each respective academic department and advisor before it can be counted as a specific course at Arkansas State University.

5)      If any elective credit is approved as a specific course, academic department will send information to the registrar office.

6)      ASU’s Registrar office will then make necessary changes on the student’s transfer worksheet.
