Cohort Programs

The International Center for English (TICE) also designs special courses and programs for cohort groups that are comprised of at least 20 students. Typically cohort programs are developed by international institutions of higher education and secondary education, governments, companies, organizations and/or an agency/agent that is affiliated with Arkansas State University operating outside of the United States in the country or countries from which cohorts are developed. These programs include, but are not limited to, intensive summer programs for teachers, business executives, government officials, tourist and trade representatives, high school students, and many others. For example, a summer program may be designed for business executives who need to improve their English competencies as they will be required to work more closely with multi-national companies in which English is the common shared language of business exchange. Another example might be English Language teachers who are non-native English speaking teachers of English in other countries who are interested in improving their English competency and teaching methodology skills. Such intensive programs may include an array of cultural enrichment activities, fieldwork, and travel to natural and man-made attractions. TICE also offers joint programs with academic departments at ASU in order to meet the English and professional needs of the cohort group.
