Retrieval of Pre-1980 Journals in Storage

The Dean B. Ellis Library is pleased to announce that we are again able to retrieve pre-1980 journal volumes from storage upon request.

An online Journal Retrieval Request Form is available to current ASU students, faculty, and staff. A print version of the form is also available at the Circulation Desk of the Library.

Before submitting a Journal Retrieval Request Form, please consult the Library Journal Links to see if the needed article is available online. If an article is available full-text online and you still need the print volume retrieved, please indicate the reason for retrieval in the "Notes/Comments" box on the request form. For example, "Print copy of article needed for scanning of color illustrations."

• Volumes will be retrieved from storage on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Retrieved volumes will be available for pickup at the Circulation Desk after 1:00pm on the day of retrieval
• Requests received prior to 9:00am on scheduled retrieval days will be retrieved that day
• Most volumes will be held at the Circulation Desk a minimum of eight days before being returned to storage

If a range of a number of volumes is needed for classes or research purposes they can be retrieved from storage and placed on browsable shelves on the third floor for specified periods up to a semester in length. Requests of this nature will be expedited if you contact Laura Downing (ldowning@astate.edu), Sherry Eskridge (seskridge@astate.edu), or Jeff Bailey (jbailey@astate.edu) to discuss your needs.

If a requested volume cannot be retrieved for some reason, the person placing the request will be notified and encouraged to submit a request for the needed article(s) via Interlibrary Loan.

The full back runs of Arkansas Historical Quarterly and Craighead County Historical Quarterly are available on the Periodicals shelves on the second floor.
