MILITARY SCIENCE AND LEADERSHIP II
Class: The MSLII class is the sophemore level course required by all cadets who have not completed basic training. Cadets will continue to build a strong foundation of leadership during these two semesters. This class will cover areas such as team building, situational leadership, effective Army briefing, interpersonal communication, effective writing, Army rank and structure, duties, traditions, map reading, land navigation, and an introduction to troop leading procedures. They will be exposed to and given a familiarization to battle drills and patrolling. This year will give them the know how to tackle the Leadership Training Course at Fort Knox, KY before their junior level course.
Rank: MSLII cadets hold the rank of cadet corporal (C/CPL) during the fall semester. Deserving cadets will be promoted for the spring to cadet sergeant (C/SGT). Promotion will be based on ROTC performance, undergrad GPA and the recommendation of the Platoon Leader and the Platoon Sergeant to the Company Commander and First Sergeant.
