Celebrate Dr. Suess' Birthday

March 3, 10:30 am to noon

ASU Museum celebrates the birthday of
Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) by participating
in the “Read Across America” campaign.

In recognition of the birthday of Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss), Arkansas State University Museum hosts “Read Across America,” Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10:30 am to noon.  ASU Museum is located at 320 University Loop West Circle, Jonesboro, AR in the west wing of the Dean B. Ellis Library.**  The “Read Across America” celebration will be held in ASU Museum’s Family Reading Castle room, located near the Atrium. This is a free event and open to children of all ages.

Where does Oobleck come from?  How many things can you do with your eyes shut? On March 3rd beginning at 10:30 am, join the party as we read Bartholomew and the Oobleck and I can read with My Eyes Shut (Dr. Seuss).

Kids will learn more about Oobleck as they make their own ooey gooey Oobleck.  Afterwards, they’ll see how easy (or hard) it is to play Seuss-like games…with their eyes shut!  The party will conclude in the Museum’s theatre with the big screen showing of Dr. Seuss’s beloved story, “The Lorax.”

Visit the ASU Museum online at http://museum.astate.edu, or like us on Facebook at http://facebook.come/ASUMuseum. Regular museum hours are 9 am to 7 pm Tuesday, 9 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 pm on Sunday.  ASU Museum is closed on Mondays and University holidays.
