News from the Dean

Dear Reader,

Thank you for your interest in the Center for Regional Programs.  During the 2008-2009 year, the Center for Regional Programs will undergo several changes:

  • This academic season marks the 13th year that the Center for Regional Programs has been privileged to partner with the public schools to offer university-level credit courses to high school students. The Center is proud of this achievement, and we are particularly proud of our instructors, who make this quality instruction possible.  This year, our Concurrent Enrollment Program, which allows eligible junior and senior high school students to enroll in university-level credit courses, will undergo a historical transition to seek accreditation by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment (NACEP).  Membership in the NACEP organization is required by Arkansas universities wishing to continue concurrent programming.
  • You can expect to see continued changes in the Center's website which incorporate a more user-friendly design and additional content.  If you notice something that we've missed, please let us know. Web information will continue to be refined and reformatted throughout the year.

  • If you visit our offices, you know that Center operations moved to the Arkansas State University-Jonesboro campus on September 30, 2008.  Our offices are now located in Suite 410 of Eugene W. Smith Hall, formerly known as the Chickasaw Building.  This relocation came after 16 years of operation at 2004 E. Nettleton in Jonesboro, the former home place donated to the University by the late Dean B. Ellis, Emeritus Professor of Mathematics.

We will keep you abreast of newsworthy events and developments as they occur.

Verlene Ringgenberg, Ed.D.
