I am pleased to welcome you to the Office of Research Administration website, designed specifically to provide you, the researcher, with the tools you need to support your scholarship and research. It is my job, and that of my staff, to help you identify funding opportunities, prepare your proposals, and administer your grants when you get them. It is also our responsibility to develop cross-disciplinary scholarship opportunities that very often reach into the community or to other institutions.
The Office of Research Administration is divided into the following functional areas:
Office of Research Development, with responsibility for helping you find funding opportunities, prepare your proposals, and submit them on your behalf; Office of Sponsored Programs Accounting, with responsibility for administering grants after they have been received; Office of Research Administration and Compliance, with responsibility for negotiation of contracts, reporting, and adherence to federal, state, local and University laws/regulations for external funding; Office of Intellectual Property, with responsibility for commercialization of the faculty's research ideas; and Office for Centers and Institutes, with responsibility for development and management of cross-disciplinary centers of excellence and/or institutes.
I welcome your comments and suggestions to make this site as useful as possible, and also welcome your thoughts about ways that our office can provide support you in your scholarly activities.
Best regards,
Dr. Andy Novobilski
Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research
