Application Checklist

  1. Visit with your Admissions Counselor.
    If you are interested in attending Arkansas State University, you may want to visit campus to meet with your  Admissions Counselor. You can find your Admissions Counselor here.

  2. Take a campus tour.
    While you're on campus visiting your Admissions Counselor (or on another date), you should take a campus tour. We have a great team of student Admissions Ambassadors who love showing future students around the place they call home. To schedule a campus visit, contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-382-3030 or (870) 972-3024. You can also schedule a tour online. Be sure to let us know if you would like to meet with a faculty member in your academic area so we can arrange an appointment in advance.

  3. Complete an application for admission.
    Please complete an online admissions application.

  4. Submit a $15 non-refundable application fee
    You can pay online when completing your online application. For more information, call the Cashier's Window at (870) 972-3847.

  5. Request official transcripts.
    Once you've applied, have your high school send us your transcript. Also, if you've taken any concurrent enrollment college courses, have those official transcripts sent as well. All transcripts should be mailed to:

  6.  Send Official Test Scores.

    Official ACT scores, SAT scores, ASSET or COMPASS scores** mailed directly to the university from the testing institution or the high school.  Test scores are only valid five years from date of exam.  

    **Hand-carried documents are not considered official records. 

  7.  Submit MMR (Mumps, Rubella & Rubeola/Measles) records.

    NOTE:
     Please allow approximately 7-10 business days for your application to be processed once all your application information/required documents have been received. Once admitted, you will receive an acceptance letter by mail from the Office of Admissions.
     
  8.  Apply for financial aid.
    Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. If you have questions about the FAFSA, please contact our Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at (870) 972-2310 or visit their website. Arkansas State University's school code is 001090.

  9.  Apply for scholarships.
    Your Admissions Application is also your application for institutional scholarships. A list of our institutional scholarships can be found here.

  10.  Apply for housing.
    ASU offers a variety of housing options for transfer students. If you plan to stay on campus, please contact the Office of Residence Life by phone at (870) 972-2042 or by e-mail. You can also get more information regarding rates, residence halls and amenities online.

     

  11.  Attend New Student Orientation.
    At New Student Orientation, you'll become more familiar with campus, meet with faculty and students and register for your classes. For more information about New Student Orientation (dates, parking info, etc.), click here.
