  1. Visit with the Transfer Coordinator.

    If you are interested in transferring to Arkansas State University from a community college, you may want to meet with our Transfer Coordinator, David Kenley. You can contact him in the Office of Admissions by phone at 1-800-382-3030 or (870) 972-3024 or by e-mail.

  2. Take a campus tour.

    To schedule a campus visit, contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-382-3030 or (870) 972-3024. You can also schedule a tour online. Please let us know if you would like to meet with a faculty member in your academic area so we can arrange an appointment in advance.

  3. Complete an application for admission.

    You can complete an online admissions application here or if you would like a paper application mailed to you, please contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-382-3030 or (870) 972-3024.

  4. Submit a $15 non-refundable application fee with the Application Fee Slip found here.

    You can pay online when completing your online application, or you can pay over the phone by calling the Cashier's Window at (870) 972-3847. 

    You may also pay by mail with a check or money order made payable to ASU Admissions should be sent directly to:

    NOTE: If you are mailing your payment, the Application Fee Slip must accompany the Application fee.
  5. Request official college transcripts.

    An official transcript from each school you have attended is required for admission to the university. Request transcripts be sent to:

  6. Submit MMR (Mumps, Rubella & Rubeola/Measles) records.

    NOTE: Please allow approximately 7-10 days for your application to be processed once all your application information/required documents have been received. Once admitted, you will receive an acceptance letter by mail from the Office of Admissions.

  7. Apply for financial aid.

    Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. If you have questions about the FAFSA, please contact our Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at (870) 972-2310. Arkansas State University's school code is 001090.

  8. Apply for scholarships.

    Download the Transfer Scholarship application. Mail the completed application to:

  9. Apply for housing.

    ASU offers a variety of housing options for transfer students. If you plan to stay on campus, please contact the Office of Residence Life by phone at (870) 972-2042 or by e-mail. You can also get more information regarding rates, residence halls and amenities online.

    There are limited spaces available. Make sure you apply early, because assignments are made on a first come, first served basis. You can download the Residence Life application here. Mail the completed application to:

  10. Contact your academic advisor.

    Registration normally begins in November for the spring semester and in April for the summer and fall semesters. To view updated registration dates, click here.

    Please call the academic department of your intended major and request an appointment with an advisor a week or so before registration dates open. Your academic advisor will help you choose the classes you need and clear your advising hold so you may register for classes.

  11. Activate your digital ID.

    You must create your AState username (also referred to as your Digital ID). Click here to do that now. 

    Please read and accept the policy, then enter your campus ID number and PIN number (birthdate in six digits - MMDDYY) and create a password you will remember. Once completed, you will be given a username and an e-mail address.

  12. Register for classes.

    Once an advisor has cleared your hold and you have created your AState Student Username, you may register for classes. 

    Prior to registering, students should check their status for any holds. You may check your status here.

  13. Have your campus ID made.

    You will need your ASU campus ID card to participate in most student and athletic events. The ID card is also used for access to computer labs, the fitness center and as your meal card for the cafeteria. You must be registered for classes in order to have an ID made. 

    You can get your ID made at the ID Center located in the Office of Student Account Services (Room 2146 in the Student Union). A valid picture ID must be presented in order to receive your ASU ID.

  14. Get a parking permit.

    Everyone who parks on the ASU campus is required to have a parking permit. If you intend to park on campus, you will need to get a parking permit through the Office of Parking Services.

    You cannot obtain a parking permit without a valid ASU ID.

    The ASU Office of Parking Services is located at ASU Northpark Plaza (2301 E. Johnson, Suite D, Jonesboro, AR 72401). For more information, contact the Office of Parking Services at (870) 972-2945.

  15. Buy your books.

    Books can be purchased in person at the ASU Bookstore located in the Student Union. You may contact them by phone at (870) 972-2058 or check them out online.

  16. Pay your fees.

    Once registered, enrollment creates a financial responsibility. The Office of Student Account Services will e-mail bills at least once per term and will send bills through U.S. Mail quarterly. You may view, print or pay your account here.
