Intramural Eligibility Requirements
The following would make a participant ineligible:
a) Players that have been ejected from current or past semesters & who have not been reinstated

b) Players or teams that owe forfeit fee’s

c) Name does not appear on the Greek roster (IFC, NPC, NPHC)

d) Falsification of names on a score sheet will cause a team to be subject to suspension from further participation in that sport.

e) Person playing is either not enrolled in school or not faculty/staff

f) Faculty/Staff plays on an "A" team

g) Participant playing has past collegiate experience in the event
Penalty for playing with ineligible players?

The penalty for use of an ineligible player or a team playing a person under an assumed name shall be:

a) The team shall forfeit (non-paying) all games in that sport in which the ineligible player competed.

b) Points for that team will be taken away. Points against will be accepted.
Who is eligible to participate with our program? Only students & Faculty/Staff of ASU-J are elgible to participate in our program. Students must be taking three (3) or more hours.
Can I be involved with more than one team? Participants can be involved with one team only. Once you turn in your ASU ID for a team you are involved with that team.
Can Faculty/Staff participate? For Faculty/Staff of ASU-J to participate they must provide the department with proof of involvement with ASU-J (Departmental letter stating who they are, who their immediate supervisor is with contact info). If approved to participate Faculty/Staff can play in B & Open league events only.
What is your policy with collegiate players? Any individual who is involved in a varsity or junior varsity sport at the intercollegiate level is ineligible to participate in that intramural sport or related sport during the same academic year. Application of this rule applies to red shirt, walk-ons, transfer, and junior college athletes from any 2-year or 4-year institution. A participant who meets any of the following criteria is considered ineligible:

 

a) Name appears on an official varsity or JV roster during the academic year 

b) Participates (including scheduled team practices and/or workouts) in a varsity or JV sport for a period of more than one month

c) Has competed in an intercollegiate contest


Any former member of an intercollegiate team will be ineligible to participate in that intramural sport or related sport until after a period of one calendar year (365 days) following the end of the semester of his/her last participation as an intercollegiate player.

INTRAMURAL GREEK LIST
What is this? This is an active list that is sent in to the Greek Director
Students on this list can represent their perspective chapters in the intramural program.
What if my name is not on the list? A couple reasons why: 1) Your organization did not update the list or 2) You do not belong to the organization
How do I resolve the issue? Send an updated roster to the Greek Director, they will send it to me, & I will update the roster
What happens if we play games & a player or players are not on the list? 1) All games played with the illegal player or players will be counted as a loss
2) All points counted for will be taken away & team will obtain all points against
3) If the infraction is repeated that organization could be suspended from intramurals
How do I avoid this? 1) Update your roster & 2) Check your active roster before playing
Can pledges play? If their names do not appear on your active roster then they do not play!
