UPDATE 08/06/09

Through hard work of the UPD Criminal Investigation Division and the Patrol Division, a suspect was developed in this case.  After reviewing a photo line-up, the victim and witness identified the suspect in the case below.  A warrant was issued and an arrest was made by the University Police Department.  The suspect was taken to the Craighead County Detention center pending a bond hearing. 

At approcimately 1:15 A.M. on 07/25/09, the University Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at Collegiate Park Apartments Building #3.  When officers arrived, it was discovered that a student had been shot in an apparent armed robbery.  The student was able to provide the following details of the two suspects:

Suspect #1: Large build black male wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and a dark colored doo rag.

Suspect #2: Thin build black male wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black doo rag.  This suspect also had a small tatoo on his neck.

At this time, it is unknown if the student was shot directly or indirectly during a scuffle that ensued during the robbery.  The suspects fled the area in an unknown direction.
