PRAXIS II SAT  Natioanl Counselor's Exam (NCE)

Independent test companies develop standardized testing programs.  Test scores are used primarily as admission criteria for undergraduate, graduate, and professional school admissions. Special testing accommodations for persons with disabilities must be made directly with the testing company.

 

ACT National:   The ACT exam is a national college entrance exam published by American College Testing. For  test dates, registration information and costs, and to register online with a credit card, visit www.act.org.

PRAXIS II:  Subject Assessments/Specialty Area Test/Principles of Learning and Teaching

Praxis II assessments measure a teacher candidate's knowledge of the subjects to be taught, as well as, general and subject-specific pedagogical skills and knowledge.  The State of Arkansas requires a candidate take and pass The Praxis Series Principles of Learning and Teaching plus the appropriate Praxis II Subject Assessment(s) for initial licensure.  ASU requires all education candidates to take the appropriate Praxis Series Exams required for certification in Arkansas and report their results to ASU prior to graduation.  The Praxis II series of exams is NOT available on computer. National Counselor's Exam (NCE) 

Passing the NCE for Licensure and Certification is one step in the process of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.  The exam is the property of The National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. of Greensboro, NC.  It is a four hour multiple choice format exam.
