Welcome to Learning Support Services!

LSS Mission Statement: We support successful independent learning. 

We provide academic assistance for all students enrolled in ASU Jonesboro courses, and we are proud to serve the full spectrum of students - from developmental to honors.  We assist students who are truly struggling in their coursework, students who simply lack confidence in their learning skills or performance, as well as academically self-assured students who are processing their understanding of course concepts.

Below is a brief overview of our programs, but please visit the individual web pages to gain more in-depth information about our services as well as specific schedules, tutor information, and particular SI and SLA course offerings.

The Learning Support Center (LSC) offers drop-in peer one-on-one and small group tutoring in almost all ASU-J 1000 and 2000 level general education courses as well as some upper-division core courses.  All tutoring is FREE!

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that targets ASU's "high risk" courses by providing voluntary, organized, peer-led study sessions. SI is FREE!

Structured Learning Assistance (SLA) is an academic support program that likewise targets some of ASU's "high risk" courses similar to SI.  However, this program takes academic support one step further by building the SLA workshop times directly into students' schedules.  This way, all students registered into the SLA section attend the help sessions.  This FREE program offers a powerful academic safety net!

The ASU Resources link offers a comprehensive list of other academic support services available at ASU.  Most are either subject-specific or serve a specialized population.

Learning Resources connects ASU students to helpful learning support links across the country.  Many offer content-specific learning and study strategies to help facilitate student success.
