Subjects Tutored in the LSC

The LSC tutors are able to help students in almost all 1000- and 2000-level general education courses and some upper division core courses.  Services are for students in ASU-Jonesboro courses only.

Visiting the LSC

Students are encouraged to consult the Spring 2012 Tutoring by Course Schedule to determine the best time to drop-in for assistance. The LSC also offers organized, tutor-led study sessions in some high-demand courses and are created based on interest and need. If you need assistance in a course you do not see on the list, or need further information, please contact the LSC at 972-3451 or lsc@astate.edu.

The LSC Math Lab is available for students to practice and certify in Hawkes-based Algebra courses. Students may drop in to the Math Lab during regular LSC hours where a qualified LSC tutor is always on-hand in the Math Lab.

Preparing for a Visit

Tutors in the LSC are trained to assist students with the learning process.  Students are asked to bring all the necessary "tools" for learning, including lecture notes, text notes, textbook, and course syllabus. Students must also bring their ASU student ID to receive services in the LSC.

Additionally, students will maximize their time with a tutor when they come prepared with specific questions.  The best way to prepare for tutoring is by attempting all homework questions in advance, reading textbook assignments and reviewing lecture notes.  Tutors can best assist students already engaged with the course material.

LSC Tutors

LSC Tutors are ASU undergraduate students who have completed at least 30 credit hours and have an overall GPA of at least 3.25. Tutors must have received a "B" or higher in a course in order to be eligible to tutor or have received alternate credit such as AP, CLEP or completed a higher level course. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please follow the link below to access an application.
