Good afternoon.

Arkansas State University has established a site to provide updates and information regarding the Information Privacy leak on August 26, 2010.
As new information becomes available, we will post it to the site, and to through email as appropriate.

Several email inquiries have been made as to why an individual was on the list that was compromised when they never registered to operate a state vehicle.
After some further analysis, our records indicate that the list was individuals who A) were registered to operate a state vehicle, and/or B) were authorized to receive reimbursement for use of personal vehicles on university business.

The university is in  the process of acquiring Experian Fraud/Credit Monitoring subscriptions for all 2484 affected individuals.  We anticipate having this process complete within the next 72 business hours.  Individuals whose information was  exposed in the leak will be notified and provided with the subscription information.

We have launched an incident management site with information available for all members of the ASU community. The site contains links and contact information for the three major credit bureaus and also a tool to allow faculty, staff, and students to determine if their information was compromised.  The site can be accessed at the following URL:  http://www2.astate.edu/info/consumer-protection

Thank you for your patience during this time.  Please do not hesitate contacting us via email or telephone if we can provide you with any additional information.
