Master of Arts in Teaching

The purpose of this program is to provide an additional quality pathway to AR teacher licensure
for our region and state. Individuals seeking to enter public school teaching with bachelor’s
degrees are eligible to earn initial licensure through the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree.
The MAT includes Teacher Education core courses along with specialized courses to create a
Masters Program for initial licensure in Early Childhood Education or Middle Level Education.
