• Six hours of U.S. History
• Twelve hours of History electives
• HIST 6301-6, Thesis (or 6 hours of approved History electives)
• HIST 5303, The Idea of History, and HIST 6213, The Practice of History (only required for candidates who have not previously taken an equivalent course; not counted toward the 30 History hours required for the degree).
